Why is it that I'm becoming jealous of people more attractive than I am?

I don't think it's an "Asian-thing," as so many feel that way. Back when you were the only Asian person in high school, maybe you stood out a bit. Maybe, your beauty was more noticeable because you were the only ONE. You might have appeared even a bit exotic to the guys.Now the playing field has broadened. Not only are their other Asian women but Eastern Indian women, African-American women, women from Europe, Japan, and all over the globe. The dating stakes are now raised a bit higher and competition is stiff. It's typical now for people to be with one person while having their eye on someone else. Keep your options open--if you know what I mean.
