What is the relationship between revolutionary activity and terrorism? And Maoists?

Hi. So I'm having trouble differentiating the difference between revolutionary activity and terrorism. I'm also having trouble differentiating between how Maoist groups differ from other terrorist groups? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am attempting to write a paper but I'm kind of at an impasse trying to understand these seemingly subtle differences. Thank you in advance!
